Camp as a row of tents.
Tried this out recently, on short term loan from Nene Overland. The Ford Ranger was boring, but did the trick and the Camper that dropped into the back was most comfortable. The boys and I lit a fire and cooked up some grub. White wine and beers cooled in the stream and we had a jolly night round the camp fire while the rest of the Country watched something called ‘X Factor’, whatever that is. It was raining a tad, but who cares. Good clean fun.

Gosh, that looks good fun! Did you stay with tradition and leave behind a mattress, a sofa with the springs showing and an old 'fridge?
dirigible eh ? brilliant - don't buy the ford though, toyota for build quality or L200 mitsubishi as seond best. Favourite would be and F350, Dodge Ram HD or '70s Chevvy Cheyenne with huge Winnie dirig.
Blimey. Looks like a re-make of Deliverance.
Yes Peter. Burt Reynolds was lurking in the bushes, fingers steady on the string....
Diplo. My son, Matt, who does these things, had a Land Cruiser in the other day that had clocked up 80,000 miles on a big Africa trip over three years. It only needed new front pads and the handbrake adjusting to skip through the MOT. Don't know why we bother with anything else.
My old cart-sprung Cruiser had 260,000 on the clock when I sold itand never even had the head off. A £60.00 valet had it looking like new including the seats and carpets - quite amazing
Sounds like you guys had fun ,though you sounded like you had lots of miss-givings at the beginning.Rugged Ridge
