The Goodwood Revival 2009.
My first visit to the Goodwood Revival Meeting and what a spectacle! About 90% of the capacity crowd were in costumes from 1940’s to 1960’s. Dressed in polite clothing, people were most polite! So many interesting cars one became rather dismissive of anything not mouth watering. My favourites in the car park were the two Messerschmitt’s and the Bedford Camper Van. I could go on and on. A great day thanks to a free tickets from my pal Rod, the Photoshop Guru.

I can see you had a good time. Bloody hell Toby.
Right: a series of questions.
1. Is that a genuine Messer 500 'Tiger'?
2. Is that a Triumph engine in a Bantam frame?
3. The Air Hostesses.....err....err....yes or no?
not a bantam affer - that top frame spar(over the tank here) is very Harley WA/WL '45/'46 ish
oh yeah - re the hosties check out the goodwood post on the Sideburn blog (link off my blog)
Yes Affer - a real Tiger. Never seen one in the flesh before. Sadly did not witness it roar off. The bike frame is a mystery, but the front forks look very BSA B31 to me. The best thing about it was the hand beaten saddle. A true work of art.
look here chaps - I've got to put my foot down here - deffo HD, WLC/WLA i'd say anytime 42 through 46 ish. The motor is trump, PU obviously, probably either 500 or 650, that'll be ex 5T speed twin,6T t'bird or maybe a T110/T120 Bonnie or even a Trophy. These PUs ran pretty much from '47 to '62.
Well! I do know that it was NOT Tax exempt. He'd coughed up a fee. The tax disk is covering the headlight. I looked.
Boys, boys! Never mind the sodding frame: The HOSTIES! Yes or No?
yes please
Well. They're alright. seen better.
Just noticed the very same girls pictured in James May's column in today's Telegraph.
nothing wrong with putting it about
Goodwood was, well, good wasn't it. Don't forget the monthly breakfast club - FREE! which attracts some great machinery.
